In this course, participants will gain competency in performing BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management 9.0 administrative tasks, through discussions, demonstrations, and lab exercises. The key topics include knowledge base management, event collectors, event adapters, event management policies, event rules, and service models (in BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management and in BMC Atrium Configuration Management Database). The course lab exercises are designed to ensure that participants get the knowledge, practice, and perspective required to learn about event and service management functions of BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management 9.0.

Administrators

Responsible for installing, configuring, and deploying BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management. In addition, Administrators are responsible for ensuring that BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management leverages data and information transferred from other Business Service Management (BSM) products such as BMC Performance Management Console and BMC Atrium CMDB

Developers

Responsible for configuring BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management to meet their business and IT requirements. In the process, BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Developers may need to create adapters, rules, collectors, and data classes

Operator

Responsible for working with events through the BMC ProactiveNet Operations Console. In addition, BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Operators need to understand the product architecture and the process of event management.
